Job Summary

Functions as a technical specialist or in a lead role. With minimal supervision, applies advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods. Expands knowledge and skill set in area of discipline. May start to expand knowledge in other disciplines and/or functional areas.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering role in business development, project development and project execution

• Performs project execution work to ensure that the engineering, procurement, and construction works are in accordance with the objective of the project including manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements

• Leading smaller production teams and serving as the responsible charge for a project

• Prepares and verifies complex engineering deliverables

• Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection

• Prepares and reviews complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles

• Prepares and reviews complex flow diagrams and piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs)

• Prepares and reviews mechanical equipment list, pipeline list, valve list, and miscellaneous device list

• Prepares and reviews work packages to external engineering service providers and controlling of the work results, defines scope and prepares specification, bid evaluation, awards the packages, reviews external drawings and documents, attends inspection activities, prepares and review factory and acceptance test reports, support construction work

• Reviews lower-level engineering work or assignments

• Provides guidance and direction to others from the same project and discipline

• Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects

• Continues to learn, remains current and applies independent knowledge and interpretation about departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures relative to assigned tasks

• Consistently and independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks

• Actively supports continuous improvement and change management efforts

• Apply advanced engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods.

• Provide support to business development or pursuit activities

• Shares current knowledge of latest technology and processes to team

• Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects

• Typically assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer or related engineering fields

• 5+ Experience in detail design engineering

• Experience in EPC Infrastructure Power Plant, System Design Engineer for Boiler or Gas Turbine is preferred

• Good command in English both Writing & Speaking

• Able to work as a team

• Work well under pressure

Minimum

Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
