Task description
UNICEF Thailand country office building is in need of a strategic interior renovation that respects its architectural heritage while modernizing its functional capabilities. This renovation, first of its kind in over a decade, and it is also intended to strengthen the organization's brand identity by creating a coherent visitor and workplace experience that reflects its history, values, and future vision. The Branding Strategist will translate the organization's brand into physical spaces that communicate its identity consistently to visitors, partners, staff, and stakeholders. The primary focal points are the ground-floor and lobby (to be converted into an immersive visitor experience celebrating historical achievements) also the second-floor executive offices to reflect leadership excellence and corporate prestige. Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative Operations and in close collaboration with the Operations team members (CSC), the UNV will be responsible for the following :
• Develop a visual concept based on UNICEF Branding Guidelines that translates the organization's identity, values, and strategic priorities into the physical environment, ensuring all interior design elements consistently reinforce UNICEF's visual identity, messaging, and visitor experience.
• Integrate storytelling, heritage, and brand experience throughout public and executive spaces.
• Incorporate office design/brand refreshing of common office area into a high-impact visitor zone featuring historical storytelling and achievement exhibits such as lobby and visitor areas.
• Develop engaging visitor experiences that effectively communicate the organization’s mission, key achievements, and future vision through the physical space.
• Unify historic preservation with modern branding to create a timeless corporate identity.
• Design offices including executive spaces that project leadership authority while maintaining operational privacy and cohesion with the overall brand.
• Preserve architectural integrity by ensuring all branding interventions comply with historic building regulations. Results/expected outputs:
Phase 1: Historical Archiving & Spatial Audit
• Conduct a heritage audit mapping out protected architectural features, structural limits, and lighting constraints of the 2-floor building.
• Archive corporate history by gathering historical assets, awards, vintage media, and milestones for exhibit storytelling.
• Analyze visitor traffic to optimize security checkpoints, reception interactions, and tour flows in the lobby.
Phase 2: Brand Identity & Narrative Development
• Refine the corporate narrative connecting the organization's historic roots to its future vision. (or: Develop a spatial brand strategy that translates the organization's history, mission, values, and future vision into a coherent visitor experience.)
• Design an exhibition content matrix detailing the storyline, text panels, and artifact placement for the lobby.
• Establish a sophisticated color and material palette that complements historic architecture (e.g., matching original wood, stone, or metalwork) with brand colors.
Phase 3: Interior Architecture & Exhibition Design
• Lobby & Visitor Zone:
• Design a premium reception desk seamlessly integrated into the historic architecture.
• Create custom showcase vitrines, integrated timeline walls, and digital/interactive historical exhibits.
• Plan ambient, conservation-grade lighting to highlight exhibits without damaging historic surfaces.
• Executive Offices (Second Floor):
• Design layout plans for executive offices
• Select premium, cohesive finishes, bespoke furniture, and acoustic treatments for confidentiality.
• Curate corporate art and achievement displays tailored for leadership spaces.
• Wayfinding & Signage:
• Create non-invasive, historically sensitive directional signage and room identifiers.
Phase 4: Procurement Specifications & Construction Liaison
• Deliver "Design Intent" documentation including 3D renders, materials boards, and technical drawings.
• Draft technical specifications for custom exhibition millwork, lighting fixtures, and materials to hand over to the renovation contractor.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify that construction aligns with the approved design intent, historical preservation guidelines, and that branding standards are precisely met.

Required education level
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Environmental Design, Architecture, Fine Arts, or Marketing / Communications, environmental design or relevant.
Skills and experience
• Experience in brand strategy, interior architecture, and corporate spatial design.
• Proven portfolio detailing successful renovations of historic/heritage buildings and exhibition/ museum design.
• Proficiency in CAD and/or 3D visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent) as a desirable asset.
• Exhibition/museum design experience, preferred.
• Proven track record in working with disabilities and/or disability-friendly designs.
• Demonstrated expertise in the area.
• Strong coordination skills
