Position Overview
The role aims to 'ensure accurate financial transactions, maintain records, and support day-to-day financial operations' with emphasis on client-focused service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations:
- Reconcile UNOPS bank accounts and financial institution statements monthly
- Prepare journal entries for FX gains/losses and bank charges
- Flag discrepancies between bank statements and cash records
- Monitor corporate prepaid cards and MasterCard transactions
- Investigate suspicious payments and escalate concerns
Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain compliance with UNOPS regulations and IPSAS standards
- Support internal control system maintenance
- Organize electronic and physical filing systems per audit requirements
- Assist with audit requests and documentation
Administrative Support:
- Collaborate with field offices and UN entities on unreconciled items
- Participate in finance training and capacity-building initiatives
- Contribute process improvement ideas
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Secondary school diploma + 4 years relevant experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting + no experience required
Experience:
- Project financial management, budgeting, or cash management background
- Proficiency with MS Office, G-Suite, and web-based systems
Languages:
- Fluent English and Thai (both required)
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA)
- Multicultural or UN system experience
- Development/humanitarian sector background
- ERP software familiarity
