Business Development Manager, Public Sector Telecommunications

DESCRIPTIONAWS is one of Amazons fastest growing businesses, servicing millions of customers in more than 190 countries, reshaping the way global enterprises consume information technology and powering the developers who are building the next generation of global industry leaders.Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced candidate to develop and manage the joint-execution of the strategic plans with State-Owned Telecommunications and Communication Service Provider (CSP) in ASEAN. The role works with the Global Segment and regional Commercial telecommunication sector owners at AWS who are responsible for the overall partner strategy for each segment, which include aligning go to market plans and development of supporting programs that are focused on driving demand in the segment.As a key player on the ASEAN Public Sector team, you will have the opportunity to accelerate adoption of AWS by supporting the design of telecom-focused architectures, mitigation of telecom regulatory blockers that impact AWS infrastructure costs, fees and customer acquisition; and improve DirectConnect telecom partner engagement. This role has an ASEAN public sector responsibility and will work closely with AWS public policy teams, product teams, partner development managers, solution architects, professional services, and our sales teams to execute these initiatives.The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in technology partnerships and cloud solutions, along with strong business development, strategic alliances, and entrepreneurial skills. He/she should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about new business models, solution selling, and technical challenges to help build and convey compelling value propositions for AWS customers with our partners. The candidate should also have a proven track record of influencing innovation through a partner ecosystem with prior solution and program successes.As the subject matter expert (SME) for the state owned Telecommunications and CSP segment, you will have good knowledge of the top carriers across ASEAN. Other responsibilities include: Working with Sales Leaders and Partner Development Managers, build C-level relationships with our state-owned Telecommunications and CSP partners, to generate interest in new AWS programs and solutions. Help prioritize AWS investment in partners who focus on the state-owned Telecommunications and CSP market segment to drive incremental results for both AWS and our partners Work with cross functional groups including training and solutions architecture to build enablement programs that allow state-owned Telecommunications and CSP capabilities and achieve proficiency according to AWS competency standards Work collaboratively inside of AWS to identify and develop high-potential value-added services, and drive new solutions to market with our product management, solution architect, and professional service teams Support the AWS Direct Connect (DX) program roll-out across state-owned Telecommunications and CSPs. Be the innovator to drive internal change to continually modernize and improve the program to deliver better connectivity services to the AWS cloud through our Telecommunications and CSP partners. Prepare and give business reviews to AWS senior leaders within ASEAN, including progress on execution of go-to-market and routes-to-market plans that have clear and measurable ROI modelBASIC QUALIFICATIONSYou will have more than 10 years of experience in a business development, enterprise account management or product management capacity and consistently exceeds key performance metrics. Other skills include: Strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional audiences. Strong technical acumen, with a demonstrated track record of driving emerging/disruptive technologies like open source software, virtualization, and Software as a Service delivery models. Ability to think and work creatively to develop unique joint value propositions and product strategy within a partner ecosystem Demonstrated pan-ASEAN expertise in Telecommunications or CSP market verticals.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Exposure to the ASEAN region in a technology or solution leader/vendor from or supplying to Telecommunications and/or CSP organizations.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
