General Descriptions

• Provide trucking and transport solutions to customers and internal business units to achieve the set sales goals for distribution in DDM & CBT department
• Support the same in integrated sales where requirements extend beyond Port Transfers (i.e. trucking between port and warehouse or factory)
• Widen DB Schenker's market reputation for distribution in Thailand
• Identification of potential suppliers and building relationships
• Continuous improvement and procurement activities to lower delivery costs
• Participate directly in implementation of projects on distribution portion

Special Accountabilities

• Manage and organize responses to customers or other members of Business Development and Sales team in support of RFQs for distribution portion
• Develop and maintain a Cost Model for computing trucking and distribution costs
• Knowledgeable of regulatory developments in respect of trucking and distribution in Thailand
• Update Management on developments in nationwide distribution market on regular basis, and propose development ideas
• Participate in joint calls and customer visits to gather information and to present and represent Schenker's distribution capabilities and know-how
• Solution design, including process design, to meet Customer's requirements and Support project implementation / coordination
• Regularly source for and interview trucking subcontractors
• Design, evaluate and / or develop IT solutions to improve Schenker's competitive market position for distribution
• Trucking cost analysis (including fuel usage, maintenance costs and etc)
• Support the preparation of Investment Applications for trucking related assets and resources
• Other tasks as may be assigned by Head of Business Development
• Maintain and follow company rules, regulations and Health, Safety and Environmental Standards

Skills Required

• Deep and wide knowledge of Trucking and Distribution market in Thailand
• Existing and strong working relationships with many trucking subcontractors in Thailand (able to obtain the lowest cost within the shortest times)
• Strong business acumen and result-focus
• Strong presentation skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, multi-tasking, and making appropriate assumptions with uncertain/insufficient information
• Ability to negotiate and close deals (Negotiations and Problem-Solving skills)
• Highly responsible, initiative, proactive, and able to coordinate and motivate people and to work as a team under pressure
• Strong logical reasoning and meticulousness is a must
• Trucking Operations Management Skills
• Customer Relationship Skills
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data using Excel or Access or similar

Experience and Qualifications

• At least 4 years working experience in trucking field
• Experience with or understanding of logistics business or freight forwarding companies
• Ability to present in Thai and English
• Experience with Transport Management Systems
• Experience with ERP
