As a team leader, you will be responsible for coaching and developing the team competence as well as the teams tools and methods, to constantly strive for increased quality and improved engineering efficiency.Responsibilities:People- Manage people within the team (hire, terminate, develop, retain)- Forecast resource needs and maintain resource plan (capacity and capability)- Assign resources to projects, manage conflicts, and prioritize- Ensure resources are delivering assigned scope on projects- Plan objectives for team member performance and development and monitor progress against objectives- Provide real time and periodic performance feedback (offering constructive solutions) to resources- Enforce team compliance with all company mandates (training, legal compliance, process, tools, templates, HSE)- Manage capacity and capability profile of the teamExecution- Monitor key commitments for assigned resources- Ensure resources are delivering assigned scope on projects (feedback from TPMs)- Act as WPL for smaller scope where no TPM is assigned- Resolve gaps in team execution with individual effortMethod and Practice- Drive standardization across teams with peers- Drive methodology and way of working to improve quality and efficiency, both for team and relevant stakeholders (typically SA).In Process Quality- Ensure accurate reporting of quality issues (e.g. NCRs)- Drive a quality first approach, left shifting consideration of qualityContinuous Improvement- Suggest product improvements to Product Management function- Drive opportunities to make the team more leanReporting- Report resource capacity and capability plans and actuals to Product Family management- Report on team quality metricsTeamwork- Build functional team cohesion to optimize team satisfaction and performance- Distribute assignments fairly and in alignment with capabilities and development planShared Resources- Align with TPMs to assign resources in alignment with 6-month look ahead for project needs and milestones.Delivery- Align with TPMs to ensure acceptable progress on deliverablesProduct Improvements- Align with Solution Management to provide innovative concepts to spur improvement in productsKey responsibilities (describe key responsibilities in order of importance and specify the approximate amount of time, e.g. in % related to the typical business cycle)1. Foster Innovation, catching ideas from the team.2. Maintains close contact with staff on status of their work. Communicates and enforces the engineers responsibility for tracking their progress and adherence to budgeted hours through task planning. Develops action plans and coordinates resources to address and resolve problems as needed. Plans and allocates resources to all bids, projects and line related activities in the team. Responsible for bid estimations for work packages within team. Supports the work packages with how and who.3. Optimizes communication and relationships with customers and other functions. Drive and propose work improvements: measure and analysis.QualificationsEducation Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience).Relevant experience required Transportation industry experience is strongly preferred however not essentials. Experience in coordinating teams and knowledge of engineering leadership. Technical experience in working with complex systems and projects.
