The activities of the Asia Pacific Solution Centre (APSC) are to provide technical services for bituminous products to support the needs on formulation of the Construction and Road business in Asia Pacific and Middle East on the following countries: Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Export Markets (from Bukom and Tabangoa), Malaysia, Hongkong, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Middle East, India, Pakistan, East Africa.

What's the role?

Your role is to be a Solution Development Executive for Binder and Mixture & Performance, to coordinate with the technical service requestors within Shell mostly in Asia region. Also, to deliver the project, where the person will be required to work according to our 5 step-process mostly in our bitumen solution centre laboratory and would require site visit from time to time.

You will be entrusted to:

• Connect with Bitumen Application Advisor (AA)/ Senior Application Specialist (SAS)/ Solution Centre Manager (SCM) / Regional Technology Manager (RTM), Manufacturing team, Refinery Team, R&D Team or Business Team to understand the scope of each project and get connected to outline the project delivery.

  • During this step, you will be required to connect with courier and customs brokers to receive the test sample, register, and store it.

• Execute the agreed test plan to develop necessary solutions, most of the activities will be in APSC laboratory.

  • The execution for SDE role in Mixture and Performance relevant to the laboratory tasks in Civil engineering for bitumen road pavement construction i.e., Marshall Stability and Flow, Superpave design method, HWTT, ITFT, ITSM, TSR etc.
• Run the laboratory testing equipment according to the standard requirement and laboratory work instruction.
• Analyze the result data to generate the project's outcome and conclusion and able to support the technician in the team to review their result in mixture and performance section.
• Report test results in the agreed format for the SCM's review. Report review as SCM's assistant.
• Store leftover aggregate/samples/blend for required retention period.
• Dispose leftover aggregate/samples/blend and blend after required retention period.
• Comply to our Quality and HSSE system. Manage the equipment calibration and preventive maintenance schedule with our external suppliers.
• Deliver cost initiative and carbon neutral as Team's KPI.
• Support on laboratory showcase to internal/external visitors.

What we need from you

We are keen to speak to Civil Engineering professionals, and hope to find as many of the following:

• BS/BE/MS/ME in Civil Engineer or any related fields (required)
• Excellent in English communication as the stakeholders are 70% non-Thai
• Experience in road construction and design is preferred
• Advanced skill in excel and coding will be a plus
• Learner mindset, must comply to HSSE and Quality system
• Able to work under high pressure as the main deliver is to provide the solution
• Self-learner, proactive working behavior
• Flexible with the time of working
