About this Role

The Netflix Public Policy team is a group of highly talented and experienced individuals who work closely with their business counterparts to advance the strategic goals of the company. The team is perceived within the Company as solutions-oriented and as a welcome part of the Company's business team. The Head of Public Policy, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia will be a critical member of our SEA team charged with further growing our business in SEA, specifically in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia for which this role represents. You will be charged with developing and executing the Company's public policy strategy in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and supporting the SEA business and contributing to the overall success and growth of the company. You will report to the Director of Public Policy - Southeast Asia.

You will manage our portfolio of issues focused on Thailand, Laos and Cambodia with a proactive and innovative mindset and can-do attitude. The successful candidate will be charged with building relationships with government officials, industry partners and civil society groups. This role will involve managing advocacy projects, research and writing of policy briefs, monitoring legislative and rule-making initiatives. An important aspect of the role is being able to advise the company on political matters in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia and build as well as manage the relationships with key political figures able to positively influence the business environment in which the Company will operate.

In addition to your functional expertise and ability to lead strategically in Public Policy you will also need to exemplify the qualities that lie at the core of our culture - qualities such as excellence, selflessness, honesty and impact, among others.

The successful candidate will have at least 10-12 years of policy or government relations experience in Thailand (and preferably Laos and Cambodia as well), either working with a company, government, trade association or similar employer. Experience working with governmental entities and knowledge of Internet and technology issues is preferred, as is a background in telecoms/audiovisual media law or policy. The successful candidate will have excellent writing and oratorical skills, and will be highly organized and solutions-oriented. This position is based in Bangkok and will occasionally require regional and international travel.
